spent the past 3 days at Costa Sands resort with my orientation group from SMU. We're OBS Group 40! OBS cos that's where we had our orientation prior to the start of the SMU school term...cool eh? sadly they don't do it anymore. OBS was seriously fun lah...great way to know people! hmmm...but perhaps our group took some time to warm up to each other...cliques formed pretty quickly which was quite sad cos it meant that the whole group wasn't as cohesive as it should have been. Just looking at the attendance at the resort, 4 of the group of 12 weren't there...hmm...ah well...c'est la vie...people come and go i guess..
hard to believe that it's been 3 years since the start of the SMU journey. Time flies so quickly. Come this december, nearly all of them would have graduated into the working world. Another big step in life...
Reminiscing the post-NS days, it's unbelieveable how i was...still fresh from all the complications of teenage years, still ungrounded in my perspectives on myself, others, the world, and God. It's really by God's grace that i'm where i am now. Nothing great, but at least i'm happy. Still, contentment is no excuse for complacency. Emotional problems still wreak havoc now and then. Have a long long way to go in the journey to knowing God and serving Him fully.
Just a thought for June who's in aussie now doing the work of God. haha..i didn't know that she was the team leader till i read the mass email she sent. Then again, i'm sure God has chosen the perfect person. Hope she will be grow stronger through this experience. Must remember to continue praying for the whole team..
Been reading Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code...seems like everybody's reading it...so when i saw it lying ard at vincent's place i grabbed e opportunity to read it at the chalet. Finished nearly 2/3 of the book. think i shall finish it up tmr.. Feelings about the book right now? Every self-proclaimed Christian should read it. Why? haha...u find out for yourself. but please, no requesting for it to be used as Bible Study material ya?
Went to IKEA before coming home from the chalet today. Got some boxes for the BB cupboard. Got some cardboard boxes to put my stuff in too..(Did you know that those storage boxes are IKEA's no.1 seller? no wonder, cheap and good..shows that there are alot of cheap young ppl who buy ikea stuff..which is their tgt mkt btw) Thinking of making my room a decent place for human habitation. My furnitures all pretty rudimentary. Would love to have wooden furniture. Gives a more soothing feeling..but right now, i'm stuck with plastic and metal furniture that's either black, white or gray. how sad is that? oh well...烂的牌有烂的牌的玩法..just make do with the cards i'm dealt. think i will start painting my room next week...any suggestions for colors?
