sigh.....just got back my overall results for Corporate Reporting...got a C+ which really sucks, especially considering the fact that 1/3 of the class got a B and 1/4 got A. Sheesh...had expected an average grade at the least, since i had done reasonably well for my tests...i know that the project was screwed..but man...i'd felt pretty confident about the final exams... oh well...there goes another term....and the trend persists...every single term, i would have a boogey subject that pulls my GPA all the way down...was doing pretty fine with 2 A- and a B+, and this happens...from how i calculate it...it pulls my grades for this term all the way down to a B....simply abysmal..
guess i shouldn't think too much about it...not that i had any chance of chasing honours anyway...better focus on other parts of my life instead..
anyways...BB today was pretty fun..although was really disappointed to hear that one of the Boys who had been with us from the start quit because he felt there was not enough games and fun...i took it pretty seriously...and, to his credit, the fun factor has really sagged....but i guess there must be a balance between fun and discipline in any uniformed group. Hope that he will re-join us in the future... Meet up with my tuition kid for the 1st time today...she's a chinese national so you can guess that i'm teaching her 'O' level english...my 2nd international student...first one was a indonesian kids... had a pretty good chat with her....haha...boy...her english may not be that great but she sure can bitch about her homeland...specifically shanghai...i'd thought that shanghai was this developing place where the cost of living was shooting past singapore's...but not so, according to her...e impression i get of shanghai after the talk was that it's this congested, dirty, polluted little city...i found it quite weird that she mentioned that singapore's sky was so blue..later i discovered that she'd been living under the GRAY skies of shanghai for most of her life...GRAY! wow...how much pollution do you need for that to happen? gosh! anyways...if you are wondering why the heck am i just talking cock to my student and charging her, well, i don't charge for the 1st session....gotta know whether i can help her in the 1st place and also allow her a chance to see if she's comfortable with me teaching her...think that for most chinese nationals, it's quite a steep learning curve coming to singapore to study...seems like EVERYTHING in china is taught in chinese..except english of course...even their science is taught in chinese!
tomorrow's going to be a fun day! bible study, church, soccer match and church bbq after that..wow...what more could you ask for? hmm...hw abt a A for my corporate reporting? ah...fat chance...shall treasure what i have then :)
